When we reflect on the major changes that have taken place throughout this time, a major increase of popularity has been seen in the drive-in movie business in comparison to traditional movie theaters that were temporarily closed. As many around the world were forced to adjust their lives to a more COVID-conscious lifestyle, a large shift was seen in how the entertainment industry stayed afloat. In Texas alone, there are still 18 drive-in theaters running. Prominent in the ‘50s, their popularity declined when movie theaters came into play several years later. Regardless, these novel attractions provide a unique cinematic experience that simply can’t be recreated anywhere else. Calling all DFW and surrounding area residents: this one's for you. The Coyote Drive-In and Canteen is a family-friendly location that opens its doors at 6:00 pm, “rain or shine” 7 days a week. Ticket pricing starts at $8 for adults (12 years and up), $5 for kids (5-11), and free admission for chidren 4 years and under. With an up-to-date website and app (Coyote Drive-In), this location goes above and beyond to keep their customers informed with upcoming shows, times, and the menu for their onsite dining experience: the Canteen.
Redland Movie Theatre

Although this location is in the process of being completely renovated, this is not a spot to let pass you by. Built in the 1950s, Redland Theatre has recently been purchased by new owners and is scheduled to open its gates to the public on Memorial Day 2021. This drive-in theatre is going to bring some classic vibes to the 21st century and you won’t want to miss it.
With the limitations brought by COVID-19, the thought of watching a movie away from your living room couch seems like a distant memory.
