Go With the Flow

Getting into the mindset of working out can be quite a challenge. Not to mention, a few negative side effects like feeling sore and pushing through strenuous workouts can be both physically and mentally draining. The good news? If you’re looking for a relaxing way to slowly get into exercising more without feeling too much strain, yoga is the answer!

Yoga is connecting the body and mind through a series of movements that can range in difficulty. This practice allows room for growth like every other workout regime, but with few more benefits.

“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.”

Yoga is commonly known to improve posture, strength, and flexibility, as well as an increase in blood flow, better bone health, and lower blood pressure. Not to mention, its therapeutic powers have been shown to ease pain in athletes or people with arthritis. Along with all these points, yoga helps in regulating breathing, which can help de-stress individuals (anyone else need a good dose of stress relief right now?).

The best part? You can practice yoga from the comfort of your own home! With gyms and yoga studios being closed right now, there is virtually no excuse to not get in a good yoga sesh at home. Whether it's 10 minutes or an hour, practicing yoga will bring about the sense of calm we could all use.
