Your Guide To A Stylish Semester

School is back in session once again, meaning planners are filling up, days are getting busier, and cortisol levels are increasing just as fast as the stack of assignments on our desk. As millennials, our on-the-go lifestyles need clothing that accommodates the hustle and bustle. With 8 AM lectures, midday workouts, study groups in the afternoon, and club meetings at night, the last thing we need to worry about is if our outfit makes the grade. Based on styles seen on campus this semester, here are the top choices to make your go-to class outfit easy and on trend.

Tennis shoes or sneakers are almost a given on campus, but how are people wearing them this year and which should you consider buying into? If the full sporty look is your thing, look no further than the Hoka One Clifton running sneaker. These are cushiony and provide a boost of added height to make the trek to class more comfortable and confident. On Cloud Running shoes are another common sight across campus with both guys and girls. If a more sleek and fashion-forward style is what you’re looking for, the Veja V-10 and Reebok Club C sneakers are good choices. Also noted, socks are the make or break finishing touch to campus styles with ankle socks making a star appearance left and right.

Whether it is the Texas heat or our millennial habits, collegiate styles have come a long way. The progression to this more cool and comfortable look instead of the proper skirt or khakis and polo trend is one more way that clothes progress with our culture and time. Whatever helps students feel good and move easiest to and from class is what matters most. Dressing for success may have taken on a new (more casual) meaning, but with these style picks, you will be on trend and one step closer to a successful and stylish semester.

Carrying over from this spring and summer, biker shorts remain a unique and sporty alternative to typical running shorts. Elevate your big t-shirt and athletic shorts look by simply swapping them out for biker shorts instead. The stretchy legging-like material is easy for walking all across campus, and won’t leave you sweating on the 5,200 acres Aggies call home.

If biker shorts have yet to make it into your closet, maybe the tennis skirt trend is more your fit. A small nod to the plaid skirt preppy schoolgirl look, but with the influence of convenience and comfort we value as students. Tennis skirts can be easily dressed up or down, and one major perk is that most styles have built-in shorts underneath with pockets that are a perfect size for a phone or chapstick. Similarly, the iconic Outdoor Voices Exercise Dress has all the benefits of looking like you put in a lot of effort while saving you from falling into the trap of wearing the same combo every day.
