Rebirth of Y2K Fashion

Many thought that the era of Y2K fashion had its moment to shine and then retired for good. However, you should dig out those mom jeans and tiny handbags because they have just arrived again and are looking to stay. When there is a resurgence of an era's fashion trends, they quickly spread and gain popularity. The 2000’s unique fashion is no exception. Many said it would never come back, and they would try and forget all about it. Nevertheless, whether it be an A-list celebrity or the average college student, we've caught everyone adopting these trends. These styles are currently making their way to the front of everyone’s wardrobe, and soon possibly yours.

Oops, these trends did it again.

There were many iconic fashion pieces prevalent in the early 2000’s decade. However, a few notable clothing items have grown in popularity within the past year. The ultimate throwback duo is the combo of a tiny tank and mom jeans. As people have taken a break from their skinny jeans, for the time being, they have brought back the looser, baggy look. This swap has allowed the acceptance of the small tank tops coming back as their counterpart—perfect for that loose and tight balance. While many tanks have graphics and patterns, a bold color works just as well. Either way, you will stand out and give a passerby some nostalgia for their old clothing.

Accessories, Accessories, and More Accessories

You can’t just bring back the clothing trends without allowing this era's accessories to have their moment again. A staple piece that can be easily added to any outfit is a pair of cute tiny sunglasses. They are a simple and practical accessory that has been on the rise among many millennials and Gen Zs. Sunglasses are a must on a super sunny day, so why not make a statement with them? Another accessory that has crept its way back into our hearts is small handbags. Whether you're going out at night or meeting a friend for coffee, you can quickly grab this bag and elevate your whole outfit. It may not be the most sensible choice when you need to carry a lot, but who would want to miss out on an adorable fashion trend?

This one’s for the 2000’s babies

There are so many trends and outfits that are giving off Y2K energy in 2021. However, there is one unforgettable accessory that we have to acknowledge, with its intense spike in popularity in the past few months. The most prominent hairpieces that have made the most dramatic reappearance are claw clips. You can’t walk down a college campus without noticing that this trend is at its peak right now. It’s a practical adoption for getting your hair out of the way securely and easily, that you can dress up or down. 2000’s fashion is not ready to die yet, so what trend will hop on next?
