There is no doubt that we all have a specific icon from either a movie or TV series that has inspired us by their personal expression through the clothes they wore. Occasionally, certain characters will even undergo a major shift in their clothing choices to reflect their internal traits. This idea develops the question: How do we reflect our personality through our personal style? Let's take a look at some popular, trendsetting characters that have consistently inspired us.

Serena van der Woodsen:

There is no question that Serena from Gossip Girl has been a fashion icon since the show first aired in 2007. The unique aspects of Serena's attire are her variety of colors, bold accessories, and overall chic aesthetic. The assorted features of her style align strongly with her wild, confident personality. Serena's presence radiates through a room and her outfits express the same care-free, yet iconic brand. Her messy hairstyles symbolize her busy social life in which she always has somewhere to be and someone to see. Some characteristics of Serena’s unique hair include complex braids, insane volume, and boundless creativity. While her hair does not always look the most proper, it never fails to give that classic laid-back vibe, much like Serena herself. These are just a few examples of some fictional characters that inspire us to embody our unique personality on the exterior as well. For instance, if you are feeling a bit more reserved, you might throw on a turtle neck or cardigan to symbolize support and comfort.
