Aggie GameDay Fits

Of course Texas A&M University is a prestigious university with high academic standards and fundamental research. But what if we told you that Texas A&M also kicks ass in sports? The Aggies are a part of the NCAA Southeastern Conference (SEC) where “it just means more.” With that being said, our football team just beat down on the number one ranked team in the nation: The Alabama Crimson Tide. What a time to be an Aggie! With a student section like no other, it was a surreal experience to see fans and players unite and facilitate the greatest upset of the season. Aggie football fans go hard. They yell (not cheer) and stand the entire game. Standing for over 3 hours means what you wear matters. But, who says you can’t look cute and comfortable at the same time?

Boots and game day in the south go hand in hand—it’s kind of an unspoken rule. Even city girls catch themselves sporting a pair of cowgirl boots to a game or two! Classic, brown cowboy boots can top off any outfit, but the trendsetting white cowboy boots are the perfect statement piece. They arrived with the country style revival, and can go with any solid color outfit of your choice. Think a maroon dress, cute accessories, and white cowboy boots. You can even add a cowboy hat if you’re feeling brave.

However, that western throwback is not for everyone. Booties are just as popular and just as stylish. That mock croc trend is still thriving, and croc print booties can easily fit your game day aesthetic. Print is definitely in, and cow print has been making a subtle appearance in the form of footwear. What’s stopping you from letting cow print cowboy boots be the spotlight of your game day fit?

A Texas A&M jersey and denim shorts is a classic here in Aggieland. While it can be ‘basic’ to some, there is no denying the hold this fit has on the school’s spiritwear. Who knows, maybe one lucky fan from the stands will be chosen to be the “12th Man,” and they are already equipped with a jersey and a winning mentality! If wearing a jersey isn’t for you, opt for a denim dress, overalls, or a denim skirt instead.

Let’s talk accessories. You can’t go wrong! Bold, chunky earrings and a gold necklace stack can upgrade your jersey and denim fit. Dainty jewelry can complement the game day designated for your best dress. It’s all about the aesthetic you’re going for! Additionally, game day buttons can upgrade your solid colored shirt or skirt and complete the look. We all know that most stadiums have a clear bag policy now. Well, entrepreneurs took advantage of the one part of a purse that doesn’t have to be clear: the strap. A quick search on Etsy and you’ll find the perfect purse to hold your ticket, wallet, and lip gloss.

A staple white, black, or maroon dress is needed for at least one game day. That staple piece can also come in the form of a two-piece or a romper—whatever’s most comfortable. Regardless of which style you reach for, it’s a must! Dresses in 90 degree weather? Although that sounds daunting, sometimes the style of the dress, like flowy dresses, provides more air flow. Balloon sleeves are trending, and the lack of skin tight fabric gives you room to breathe and cool down while you’re cheering on the Aggies.

Let’s be real: game days in Texas are hot. Having your hair down will probably last a quarter. Waving that spirit towel and doing the war hymn can make you break a sweat! So, don’t forget a hair tie, scrunchie, or claw clip to throw your hair up.

Now that you know what to wear, Kyle Field is calling your name this Saturday. Let’s BTHO South Carolina & game day outfits!
